Recap: Northern Colorado vs. Weber State
Greeley, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Derrick Barden registered a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, as the Northern Colorado Bears made easy work of the Weber State Wildcats, 70-51, in Big Sky Conference action at Butler- Hancock Sports Pavilion.
Barden finished 10-of-15 from the field for UNC (9-3, 3-0 Big Sky), which has won three in a row since entering league play. Tevin Svihovec scored 15 points off the bench, while Tim Huskisson and Tate Unruh netted 12 and 10 points, respectively.
For Weber State (5-6, 2-1), which snapped a three-game winning streak, Kyle Tresnak had 14 points, Davion Berry scored 13 and Joel Bolomboy logged a double-double with 10 points and 14 boards.
With the game tied at 22 with under four minutes to play in the first half, UNC took control by ending the frame on a 13-4 run to take a 35-26 lead into the break.
The Wildcats got within seven points of the lead early in the second half, but the Bears pulled away for good following a 17-5 spurt.
UNC shot 50 percent from the field on the evening, including 7-of-15 from 3- point range. Weber State, meanwhile, shot just 37.8 percent from the floor, with a disappointing 4-of-13 showing from long range.Game Notes
