Recap: Eastern Wash vs. Northern Colorado

Cheney, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Harvey exploded for 38 points, hitting 10-of-15 from 3-point range and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line as the Eastern Washington Eagles outlasted the Northern Colorado Bears, 94-90, in an overtime Big Sky Conference bout at Reese Court.

Parker Kelly netted 17 points and grabbed six rebounds, and Drew Brandon notched a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists for Eastern Washington (9-12, 4-6 Big Sky). Martin Seiferth chipped in 10 points and six rebounds in the win, which snapped a two-game losing skid for the Eagles.

Jordan Wilson scored 21 points to pace Northern Colorado (13-6, 7-3), while Tim Huskisson poured in 17. Tate Unruh tallied 12, and both Derrick Barden and Dominique Lee chipped in 10. Barden pulled down eight rebounds and dished out four assists in the loss. Northern Colorado has lost two games in a row.

Eastern Washington hit 51.9 percent of its shots from the floor in the first half, and took a 37-33 lead into the break. Northern Colorado connected on 48.4 percent of its field goal tries in the frame.

The Eagles improved to 58.3 percent shooting from the field in the second half, while the Bears hit an even 50 percent of their tries in the period.

With 59 seconds left to play in regulation, Harvey hit a 3-pointer to knot the score at 81-81. The two teams battled for the remaining seconds, but were unable to break the tie, sending it to the extra period. In overtime, the Eagles were able to gain a 13-9 advantage for the four-point win.

Northern Colorado held the edge in points off turnovers, 22-6, points in the paint, 56-30, and in second chance points, 14-5. The Eagles had the advantage from the free-throw line, 16-12, and from 3-point distance, 16-6.
