Recap: Central Mich vs. Pepperdine
Mount Pleasant, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Stacy Davis shot 10-of-14 from the field for 24 points as the Pepperdine Waves used a strong second half to blow past the Central Michigan Chippewas, 88-71, at McGuirk Arena.
Davis also corralled seven rebounds and blocked two shots for Pepperdine (3-0). Brendan Lane contributed a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while adding five blocks.
For CMU (1-2), Chris Fowler netted 23 points, Austin Keel poured in 13 points and Blake Hibbitts added 12 points.
CMU made 50 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half and carried a 41-38 lead into the break.
The Chippewas cooled off after halftime, shooting just 11-of-36 from the field (.306). After a 45.7 percent showing from the floor in the first half, Pepperdine made an outstanding 72 percent of its shots in the second stanza to pull away.
Pepperdine received 27 points from its bench, while the CMU reserves scored only 13 points.Game Notes
