Recap: Buffalo vs. Western Mich
Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Javon McCrea poured in 20 points as the Buffalo Bulls coasted to an 84-63 victory over the Western Michigan Broncos in a Mid-American Conference tilt at Alumni Arena.
Shannon Evans added 17 points and seven assists for Buffalo (11-6, 5-2 MAC) as it picked up its third win in four outings. Justin Moss and Joshua Freelove scored 14 points apiece and Will Regan posted 10 points to go along with eight boards.
Shayne Whittington paced the Broncos (11-8, 4-3) with 13 points. David Brown and Tucker Haymond chipped in 11 points each for WMU, which had won its previous two games.
The Bulls took a 39-25 lead into the intermission after they shot 44.7 percent from the floor in the opening period. WMU connected on only 38.5 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half.
Buffalo improved after the break to sink 61.5 percent of its attempts from the field and also converted 10-of-11 tries at the free-throw line. The hosts led by a double-digit margin for the entire second half. The Broncos committed nine turnovers over the final 20 minutes of the contest.
The Bulls dominated on the interior as they outscored WMU, 52-32, in the paint and also enjoyed a 41-27 edge in the rebounding battle.Game Notes
