Recap: Buffalo vs. Bowling Green
Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - On his Senior Day at Alumni Arena, Javon McCrea erupted for a career-high 34 points as the Buffalo Bulls coasted to an 88-65 decision over the Bowling Green Falcons in Mid-American Conference action.
McCrea hit on 13-of-18 shots from the floor, pulled down six rebounds and handed out four assists for the Bulls (19-9, 13-5 MAC), who clinched the MAC East Division crown with the win. Jarryn Skeete provided a spark off the bench with 11 points, while Joshua Freelove netted 10 points.
For Bowling Green (12-19, 6-12), Cameron Black registered a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jehvon Clarke went 4-of-15 from the field for 11 points, which he accompanied with five assists.
The Falcons committed seven turnovers and made only 41.9 percent of their field goal tries in the opening period. McCrea scored 17 points in the first half, while the Bulls outscored the visitors, 9-4, at the free-throw line en route to a 41-31 halftime lead.
BGSU heated up to sink 50 percent of its shots from the floor after the break, but it also committed eight turnovers and 10 personal fouls. Buffalo converted 9-of-11 attempts at the charity stripe and outrebounded the Falcons, 16-11, in the second stanza to extend its advantage over the final 20 minutes of play.
The Bulls scored 25 points off turnovers and 13 second chance points. BGSU finished 4-of-15 from 3-point range.Game Notes
