Recap: Murray State vs. SE Missouri St
Murray, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarvis Williams registered a double-double with 16 points and 18 rebounds as the Murray State Racers defeated the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks, 82-75, in Ohio Valley Conference action at the CFSB Center.
Cameron Payne tallied 23 points, six boards and five assists for the Racers (6-7, 1-0 OVC) while T.J. Sapp came off the bench to pump in 14 points. Jeffery Moss added nine points and six assists.
Southeast Missouri State (8-6, 0-1) was led by Jarekious Bradley, who netted 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor. Josh Langford chipped in 17 points and Nino Johnson scored 13 to go along with seven rebounds. Tyler Stone had 10 points while Lucas Nutt provided eight points with the same number of assists off the bench.
Murray State hit on just 37.9 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half, but it went 6-of-15 from beyond the arc en route to a 38-34 halftime lead. The Redhawks made only 1-of-5 shots from behind the 3-point line in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.
Southeast Missouri State held a one-point lead with 4:45 left to play. The Racers went on a 7-0 run to take control for good as they converted 13-of-19 shots at the charity stripe after the break to win their conference opener.
