Recap: Denver vs. Belmont
Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Udofia led all scorers with 21 points, as the Denver Pioneers dismissed the Belmont Bruins, 90-62, in a non-conference clash at Magness Arena.
Udofia shot 7-of-8 from the floor and also tallied six rebounds, four assists and four steals for Denver (5-5), which has won three straight. Brett Olson registered 19 points and seven assists, Jalen Love netted 13 points and Marcus Byrd scored 11 off the bench for the hosts.
For Belmont (8-4), Craig Bradshaw poured in 18 points, while Evan Bradds chipped in with 11 points and six boards.
Denver shot 55.6 percent from the field in the first half, only marginally better than Belmont's 55 percent, but the Pioneers ran out to a 45-30 lead at intermission by shooting 7-of-14 from 3-point range and 8-of-9 at the free- throw line.
The Pioneers' dominance continued in the second half, as the Bruins never got closer than 10 points.
Belmont committed 20 turnovers on the evening, which turned into 37 points for Denver. The Bruins also shot just 4-of-19 from beyond the arc, compared to the Pioneers' 12-of-23 showing from distance.Game Notes
