Recap: Dayton vs. Saint Josephs
Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Langston Galloway knocked down a 3-pointer with just one second remaining to give the Saint Joseph's Hawks a 60-57 victory over the Dayton Flyers in an Atlantic 10 Conference battle at UD Arena.
Langston finished with 12 points for the Hawks (14-6, 4-1 A-10), who were led by Chris Wilson with 15 points. Ronald Roberts added 12 points, Deandre Bembry chipped in with 11 points and Halil Kanacevic pulled down 11 rebounds.
For the Flyers (13-8, 1-5), Jordan Sibert led all scorers with 21 points and Devin Oliver scored 16.
Both teams struggled from the floor in the first half. Dayton led 25-20 at the break but shot just 34.6 percent from the field, but it was able to connect on 6-of-14 from 3-point range. Saint Joseph's made only 26.9 percent of its field goal tries, including 3-of-13 from 3-point distance.
The Hawks came out firing after the break, shooting a red-hot 73.7 percent from the field. The Flyers shot 40.7 percent and just 4-of-14 from 3-point distance. After a 19-2 run by the Hawks gave them a 15-point advantage midway through the second, the Flyers gradually cut into the Hawks' lead, eventually tying the game on a layup by Dyshawn Pierre with 11 seconds left in regulation, setting the stage for Galloway's game-winner.
Saint Joseph's had the advantage down low, outscoring Dayton in the paint, 24-18. The Flyers had the edge on the boards, finishing the night with a 35-29 rebounding advantage.Game Notes
