Recap: Tulane vs. TX-San Antonio
New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jay Hook scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead his Tulane Green Wave over the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners, 68-56, in a Conference USA battle at Devlin Fieldhouse.
Louis Dabney netted 11 points in the win for Tulane (15-13, 7-6 C-USA). Tre Drye pulled down a team-high 15 rebounds in the victory, which was the second in three games for the Green Wave.
Hyjii Thomas scored 16 points off the bench to lead UTSA (8-18, 4-9), and Keon Lewis chipped in with 12 points, hitting a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. The loss was the sixth in seven games for the Roadrunners.
UTSA hit 44 percent of its shot attempts in the first half, and took a slim 27-26 lead into the midway break. Tulane connected on 34.8 percent of its shots in the frame, hitting 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
It was the Green Wave that exploded in the second half, netting 57.1 percent of its field goal tries, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range. Tulane also hit 13-of-18 from the charity stripe in the half. The Roadrunners dropped their shooting accuracy to 24 percent from the floor in the period.
Tulane had the edge in rebounding, 42-25, and in second chance points, 15-6. UTSA won the battle in points off turnovers, 19-6.Game Notes
