Recap: Tulane vs. Hofstra
New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jay Hook scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Tulane Green Wave held on to defeat the Hofstra Pride 61-58 at Devlin Fieldhouse.
Cameron Reynolds ended with only nine points, but his three-pointer with 1:18 left put the Green Wave (8-7) ahead for good.
Jonathan Stark added 12 points for Tulane, which has won three of its last four outings.
Zeke Upshaw scored a game-high 31 points for the Pride (4-9), who failed to hold on to a nine-point lead in losing for the third time in four contests.
After Jamall Robinson's layup with 11:45 left gave Hofstra a 46-37 lead, Tulane responded by scoring 21 of the game's final 34 points.
Upshaw hit a pair of free throws with 1:58 left to give Hofstra a 58-54 edge, but Hook drained two free throws to draw Tulane with 58-56. Reynolds then hit his three-pointer that turned out to be the game-winner. Kevin Thomas added a pair of free throws with one second left to account for the final score.
Dion Nesmith missed a pair of shots inside the final minute for Hofstra, which led for most of the contest.
Hofstra led 28-25 at the break thanks to 18 first-half points from Upshaw, who also sparked an early second half run that gave the Pride a 39-31 lead. Upshaw scored five of 11 points during the surge.Game Notes
