Recap: ULM vs. Western Ky
Monroe, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Price scored a game-high 26 points and cleared 10 rebounds as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers captured a 69-51 win over the Warhawks of ULM in Sun Belt Conference play at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Price, the only player in double figures for the Hilltoppers (12-7, 4-2 Sun Belt) as they posted a second-straight win, converted a sizzling 7-of-9 shots behind the 3-point line on the night for the visitors.
ULM (6-8, 3-3) was paced by Tylor Ongwae with 11 points, hitting only 4-of-12 from the floor, followed by Amos Olatayo with 10 points off the bench as the team saw a two-game win streak come to an end.
Western Kentucky failed to make it to the free-throw line in the first half, but the squad did hit on 51.9 percent from the floor and 4-of-6 shots behind the 3-point line, en route to a 32-27 edge at the break. The Warhawks stuck around with 41.7 percent accuracy from the floor in the period, but hit just one of their eight chances on the perimeter.
In the second half ULM was limited to a mere seven field goals, including 2- of-8 beyond the arc, not to mention converting a disappointing 8-of-18 at the charity stripe.
The Hilltoppers posted a 35-25 advantage on the glass and held the hosts to just 3-of-16 accuracy from long range.Game Notes
