Recap: Old Dominion vs. TX-San Antonio
Norfolk, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Bacote netted a game-high 22 points as the Old Dominion Monarchs defeated the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners, 69-61, in Conference USA action at the Ted Constant Center.
ODU (11-12, 5-3 C-USA) also received 16 points courtesy of Keenan Palmore, who made all five of his shots from the floor. Jordan Baker provided a spark off the bench with 13 points while Richard Ross tallied nine points and 10 rebounds.
Edrico McGregor paced the Roadrunners (7-14, 3-5) with 12 points and nine boards. Phillip Jones contributed 10 points and five steals. Devon Agusi also scored 10 points which he accompanied with five assists and three steals.
UTSA took a 25-24 lead into halftime despite connecting on only 32.1 percent of its field goal attempts in the opening period. The Monarchs knocked down just 2-of-11 tries from 3-point range in the first half.
ODU improved to hit on 50 percent of its shots from the floor and also converted 20-of-27 attempts at the free-throw line after the break. The Roadrunners could not keep up even though they made 47.8 percent of their field goal tries in the second half.
The Monarchs outscored UTSA, 33-26, in the paint and also, 23-14, in points off turnovers.Game Notes
