Recap: SE Missouri St vs. Texas State
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarekious Bradley tallied a game-high 20 points for the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks, who topped the Texas State Bobcats 82-74 on the final day of the Cure UCD Classic at Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center.
Bradley hit 7-of-9 from the field for the Redhawks (6-2), who were victorious on all three days of the competition. All four other starters also scored in double figures: Lucas Nutt (18 points), Tyler Stone (14), Antonius Cleveland (13) and Nino Johnson (10).
Joel Wright logged 16 points for the Bobcats (2-6) on 7-of-15 from the field. Kavin Gilder-Tilbury delivered 14 points off the bench and Emani Gant added another 10 points.
The teams were evenly matched in the first half, with the Redhawks making a better percentage of shots from the field and the Bobcats making two more total shots from the floor. The difference was at the free-throw line where the Redhawks shot 7-of-8 and the Bobcats, only 2-of-4. The Redhawks took a minuscule 39-38 lead into the break.
The Redhawks shot a superior 68.2 percent from the field in the second half, which included 4-of-6 from the perimeter. Again, they had the advantage at the line, with 9-of-16 to the Bobcats' 3-of-8. The Redhawks pulled away by as many as 15 points, midway through the latter half.
Texas State's troubles at the free-throw line, where it shot just 41.7 percent for the game, stifled its offensive progress and the Bobcats also found themselves out-rebounded 33-27 in the contest.Game Notes
