Recap: Ark-Little Rock vs. Texas State
Little Rock, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Will Neighbour notched 21 points, helping the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans edge out the Texas State Bobcats, 69-64, in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at the Jack Stephens Center.
DeVonte Smith, who converted all six of his field goal attempts, scored 17 points for the Trojans (10-9, 5-2 SBC), who have won two of their last three games. Gus Leeper added 11 points.
Emani Gant scored 16 points to lead the Bobcats (5-14, 1-5), who have lost three straight. Reid Koenen (13 points), Joel Wright (10) and Corey Stern (10) also scored in double figures in the defeat.
The Bobcats shot 48 percent from the field in the first half to the Trojans 36.4 percent, providing the visitors with a 31-27 lead at halftime.
Both teams' field goal shooting improved in the second half, with the Bobcats shooting 50 percent and the Trojans topping them at 56 percent. UALR also helped its cause at the line, converting 12-of-13, as the Trojans erased the first-half deficit and pulled ahead by as many as 11 points with just under three minutes to play.
The Trojans sank 86.4 percent of their free throws and outscored their opponent 18-11 in points off turnovers in a game that featured 13 lead changes.Game Notes
