Recap: Portland State vs. UC Davis
Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - DaShaun Wiggins scored 21 points for the Portland State Vikings, who made easy work of UC Davis, defeating the Aggies 79-63 to conclude action of the Portland State Tournament at the Stott Center.
Wiggins scored 11 of his 21 points from the free-throw line and grabbed seven rebounds with two steals in just 21 minutes of play for the Vikings (4-1). Aaron Moore added 16 points, eight rebounds and a pair of steals while Andre Winston had 15 points and Tim Douglas had 14.
UC Davis (2-4) was led by Corey Hawkins, who tallied 23 points and six rebounds. Josh Ritchart added 17 points and seven rebounds while Darius Graham contributed 10 more points in a losing effort.
The Vikings shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the first half and hit six 3- pointers as they carried a, 40-32, lead into the break.
In the second half, Portland State continued its efficient shooting as the Vikings shot 46.2 percent from the field and went 12-of-15 from the free-throw line.
The Vikings' bench contributed 26 points compared to just seven from the Aggies' bench. The Aggies were also held to 38.3 percent shooting from the field and 6-of-22 shooting from beyond the arc.Game Notes
