Recap: Idaho vs. North Texas
Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Stephen Madison recorded 25 points for the Vandals as Idaho defeated the North Texas Mean Green, 87-76, in a non- conference tilt as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at the Chiles Center.
Madison was 10-of-21 from the floor and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds for Idaho (3-2). Glen Dean added 16 points while knocking down four 3-pointers and Connor Hill contributed 12 points.
North Texas (2-3) was led by T.J. Taylor, who scored 24 points off the bench to go with seven rebounds. Taylor shot 9-of-11 from the field and made good on 3-of-4 shots from beyond the arc. Alzee Williams added 14 points and five rebounds.
Idaho carried a 42-33 lead into the break after shooting 51.4 percent from the field in the first half.
In the second half, the Vandals outscored the Mean Green, 45-43, after holding them below 40.0 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes of action.
The Vandals shot 50.0 percent from the field for the game while hitting 8- of-18 shots from long range. They also took advantage of their opportunities at the free-throw line, hitting 13-of-14 attempts compared to 15-of-26 shooting at the charity stripe by North Texas.
The Vandals moved to 9-0 all-time against the Mean Green with the win.Game Notes
