Recap: Denver vs. Wyoming
Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Brett Olson notched 23 points, including the game-winning three-point play in the waning seconds, as the Denver Pioneers outlasted the Wyoming Cowboys, 64-61, at Magness Arena.
Olson hit 8-of-12 from the field and 7-of-7 at the free-throw line for the Pioneers (4-5). Marcus Byrd and Chris Udofia contributed 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Larry Nance, Jr. logged an impressive double-double with a career-high 38 points and 12 rebounds for the Cowboys (7-3), shooting 15-of-21 from the floor and 8-of-8 at the line. He was his team's only player to hit double figures, however.
Denver outshot Wyoming from the field in the first half, 52 percent to 45.5 percent, as it carried a 32-23 lead into intermission.
The Pioneers led by 10 with under 15 minutes to play before the Cowboys ripped off a 14-4 run to tie the game at 49 at the 9:16 mark. The game remained tied with just three seconds remaining before Olson converted the three-point play to seal the victory. Wyoming turned the ball over on its final possession.
Denver shot 6-of-18 from beyond the arc on the afternoon, while Wyoming was only 1-of-10 from long distance.Game Notes
