Recap: Northern Iowa vs. Loyola-Chicago

Cedar Falls, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Nate Buss came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points, as the Northern Iowa Panthers dismissed the Loyola- Chicago Ramblers, 80-58, in a Missouri Valley Conference clash at the McLeod Center.

Buss shot 4-of-5 from 3-point range for UNI (12-13, 6-7 MVC), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Marvin Singleton and Matt Bohannon scored 12 points apiece for the hosts, while Deon Mitchell and Seth Tuttle added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

For Loyola (9-16, 4-9), losers of four of its last five, Devon Turk put up 10 points and Milton Doyle dished out seven assists.

UNI shot a blistering 63.2 percent from the field in the first half, including 8-of-12 from 3-point range, as it took a 35-27 lead into intermission. Loyola kept the game within striking distance by making 47.6 percent of its tries from the floor, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.

The Panthers' lead swelled to as many as 24 in the second half as they cruised to victory.

UNI outscored Loyola from 3-point range, 36-18, and won the rebounding battle, 34-24.
