Recap: Indiana State vs. Missouri State
Terre Haute, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Manny Arop, Dawon Cummings and Khristian Smith each scored 14 points to lead the Indiana State Sycamores past the Missouri State Bears, 70-55, in Missouri Valley Conference action at the Hulman Center.
Demetrius Moore added 12 points and seven rebounds for Indiana State (14-3, 5-0 MVC), which has won seven in row. Jake Odum scored just four points but dished out 10 assists.
For Missouri State (12-5, 2-3), which has lost three of four, Jarmar Gulley paced all scorers with 16 points on 7-of-12 from the field.
Missouri State shot an impressive 47.8 percent from the field in the first half, but Indiana State was even better at 51.6 percent, which included a 5- of-13 showing from 3-point range. The Sycamores carried a comfortable 39-27 lead into the break.
The Sycamores field goal percentage dipped to 44 percent in the second half, but they led by double digits throughout.
Indiana State scored 13 points off of 10 Missouri State turnovers, while the Bears had just two points off of six miscues by the Sycamores.Game Notes
