Recap: Missouri State vs. Bradley

Springfield, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Jamar Gulley scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Missouri State Bears coasted to a 74-61 decision over the Bradley Braves in a Missouri Valley Conference tilt at JQH Arena.

Austin Ruder added 13 points for Missouri State (15-7, 5-5 MVC), which has won three of its last four games. Ron Mvouika had 10 points and four assists. The Bears knocked down 12-of-25 attempts from beyond the arc in the contest.

Walt Lemon paced Bradley (9-14, 4-6) with 13 points and eight assists, but connected on only 5-of-16 field goal tries. Omari Grier contributed 12 points, Tyshon Pickett scored 11 points and Ka'Darryl Bell provided a spark off the bench with 10 points.

MSU shot 48.1 percent from the field including a 6-of-16 clip from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Braves went into the intermission trailing, 33-28, after they were limited to 40.7 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.

The Bears kept up the defensive intensity and held the visitors to makes on only 33.3 percent of their field goal tries after the break. MSU hit on 70.6 percent of its shots from the floor and converted 11-of-13 tries at the charity stripe in the second half to pull away.

Despite the loss, Bradley held a 29-24 edge in the rebounding battle.
