Recap: Indiana State vs. Bradley

Terre Haute, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jake Odum scored a team-high 12 points, as the Indiana State Sycamores earned a 62-59 win over the Bradley Braves in Missouri Valley Conference play at the Hulman Center.

Justin Gant and Dawon Cummings chipped in with 11 points apiece for the Sycamores (13-3, 4-0 MVC), winners of six straight and 10 of their last 11 contests.

Walt Lemon led all scorers with 22 points to go along with six assists, six rebounds and four steals for the Braves (6-11, 1-3), who have dropped nine of their last 10 outings. Omari Grier rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points, while Tyshon Pickett scored nine and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds in a losing effort.

Indiana State led for virtually the entire first half despite shooting just 7- of-21 from the floor and 1-of-8 from the perimeter. The Sycamores made up for it with a 10-2 first-half scoring advantage from the foul line as they claimed a slim 25-24 halftime lead.

The scoring pace picked up for both teams in the second stanza, and Bradley took a six-point lead with 10 minutes remaining in regulation. However, ISU put together a key 8-0 spurt down the stretch as they turned a 49-49 tie into a 57-49 advantage with 1:16 to play. Cummings and Lucas Eitel hit back-to-back 3-pointers during the run.

Bradley was held to 34.9-percent shooting from the floor for the game.
