Recap: USC vs. UCLA
Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Norman Powell registered 21 points on 8- of-13 shooting as the UCLA Bruins defeated the USC Trojans, 83-73, in a Pac-12 tilt at Galen Center.
Jordan Adams netted 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds for UCLA (18-5, 7-3 Pac-12). Kyle Anderson nearly earned a triple-double in the win, notching 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Travis Wear added 11 points for the Bruins, who have won four of their last five.
Byron Wesley scored a game-high 27 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists for USC (10-13, 1-9). Pe'Shon Howard chipped in 14 points with seven assists, and J.T. Terrell contributed 13 points. The Trojans have lost four in a row.
USC shot 59.3 percent from the floor in the first half, and took a 41-35 lead into the locker room at the end of the period. UCLA hit just 37.1 percent of its field goal tries in the frame.
The Bruins came out in the second half and shot 44 percent from the field to USC's 35.5 percent, storming back to take the lead for good by outscoring the Trojans 48-32 in the frame. UCLA hit 6-of-8 from 3-point range and 20-of-23 from the free-throw line in the period.
