Recap: Colorado vs. UC Santa Barbara

Boulder, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Spencer Dinwiddie scored 24 points as the Colorado Buffaloes fended off the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, 76-68, in a non-conference affair at Coors Events Center.

Dinwiddie knocked down 14-of-15 shots from the free-throw line and collected five rebounds for Colorado (5-1). Askia Booker added 14 points for the Buffaloes, who have won five-straight games.

Taran Brown buried 7-of-10 shots from beyond the arc and finished with 23 points and seven rebounds for UC Santa Barbara (2-2). Michael Bryson tacked on 12 points and Eric Childress finished with 10

The Buffaloes clung to a 32-30 lead at halftime despite shooting 44 percent and missing on all but one of their nine shots from beyond the arc. The Gauchos hit 6-of-14 shots from 3-point range to keep it close but a 9-4 deficit at the free-throw line kept them behind.

UC Santa Barbara hit another five shots from beyond the arc while shooting at a 53.3 percent clip overall in the second half. The Buffaloes were able to sustain the rally despite shooting 44 percent from the field by outscoring the Gauchos, 19-1, from the free-throw line in the final 20 minutes.

Colorado attempted 36 foul shots and made 28. The Gauchos had only eight chances from the charity stripe.
