Recap: Arizona State vs. Washington St
Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Jermaine Marshall scored a game-high 26 points as the Arizona State Sun Devils easily dismissed the Washington State Cougars, 66-47, in a Pac-12 Conference tilt at Wells Fargo Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Sun Devils (12-3, 1-1 Pac-12) were Jahii Carson and Shaquielle McKissic with 14 and 12 points, respectively, as the squad won for the fifth time in six tries.
The Cougars (7-7, 0-2), who scored a mere 25 points against top-ranked Arizona on Thursday, were led by Que Johnson with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor in the team's third loss in four outings.
WSU made a total of just nine field goals through the first 20 minutes of action, shooting 1-of-8 behind the 3-point line, yet the visitors trailed by just four points at the break, 27-23. The Sun Devils were 9-of-25 from the field in the first half.
In the second half the Cougars were again limited to just nine baskets, allowing ASU to pull away for the comfortable home win.
The Sun Devils outscored WSU at the free-throw line, 15-6, and also knocked down 9-of-20 beyond the arc on the day.
DeVonte Lacy, who entered the game leading the Cougars in scoring with 18.9 ppg, but had missed the last two contests for WSU due to an appendicitis, suffered an injury on in the first half which limited him to only four points of 2-of-6 shooting from the floor.Game Notes
