Recap: Rutgers vs. UCF
Piscataway, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Myles Mack tallied 25 points and eight assists, as the Rutgers Scarlet Knights downed the UCF Knights, 85-75, in American Athletic Conference action at The RAC.
Mack shot 4-of-10 from 3-point range and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line for Rutgers (8-9, 2-2 AAC), which snapped a two-game losing skid. Jerome Seagears netted 18 points for the home team, while Junior Etou and Wally Judge put up 14 and 10 points, respectively.
For UCF (9-6, 1-3), Isaiah Sykes logged a career-high 29 points to go with eight rebounds, Eugene McCrory scored 14 points and Kasey Wilson put up 10 points and eight boards.
Rutgers shot a modest 40 percent from the field in the first half but held UCF to a lowly 27.3 percent shooting, as it carried a 35-26 lead into the break.
After the Scarlet Knights led by as many as 13 in the second half, the Knights climbed back to make it just a three-point game, 68-65, with 6:15 to play following a pair of Sykes free throws, but they would get no closer. Rutgers used a 6-0 run later in the frame to put the game out of reach.
UCF committed a game-high 14 turnovers, which resulted in 20 points for Rutgers.Game Notes
