Recap: Cincinnati vs. Middle Tennessee
Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Sean Kilpatrick matched his season high with 23 points, and the Cincinnati Bearcats earned a 69-48 win over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in a non-conference matchup at Fifth Third Arena.
Justin Jackson recorded his third career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Bearcats (9-2), who improved to 8-0 at Fifth Third Arena as they opened a four-game homestand. Jackson also tallied four blocks and four steals in the victory.
Kerry Hammonds led the way with 17 points for the Blue Raiders (8-4) behind a 5-of-8 effort from the perimeter, although he was the team's only double-digit scorer on the day.
Neither team shot better than 26 percent from the floor in the first half, which ended in a 21-21 tie.
But the Bearcats caught fire in the second stanza, shooting 60.7 percent from the floor and 6-of-12 from beyond the arc. The Blue Raiders made only 7-of-24 field-goal attempts over the final 20 minutes and shot just 26.7 percent for the game.
The Bearcats never trailed in the contest despite committing 18 turnovers.Game Notes
