Recap: Purdue vs. MD-Eastern Shore
West Lafayette, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Terone Johnson scored 14 points as the Purdue Boilermakers ran over the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks, 79-50, in a non-conference affair at Mackey Arena.
For Purdue (9-3), Errick Peck tacked on nine points off the bench, as 12 different players recorded at least one field goal. The Boilermakers have won four of their last five games.
KyRee Jones paced Maryland-Eastern Shore (2-6) with 23 points, due in large part to his 5-of-11 effort from behind the arc. The scoring pool dried up after that for UMES, with Shane Randall netting seven points as the next highest scorer.
The Boilermakers dominated in the first half, connecting on 55.6 percent of their field goal attempts, including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. They also limited the Hawks to only five field goals.
After the break the Boilermakers cooled a bit, shooting at a 45.2 percent clip, but it was more than enough to coast to victory.
Purdue had a 26-9 scoring advantage off turnovers, and a 48-18 edge in bench points.Game Notes
