The Lubbock Police Department released recordings of the 911 call about gun shots fired near Willow Bend Elementary late Wednesday afternoon.

The initial investigation determined five people were hunting in a field nearby, and may have recklessly fired shotguns in the direction of the school.

A staff member told dispatchers the building was on lockdown after a teacher leaving campus reported she heard shots, saw a man in a field with a gun, and was grazed twice by something.

Several officers that arrived at the scene reported hearing shots fired in the field just west of the school. Five suspects were taken into custody without incident.

LPD Captain Jon Caspell said four of the suspects were released pending filing of deadly conduct charges. One suspect was arrested for unrelated warrants.

Police said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

Audio of the call is attached.
