Texas Tech's Board of Regents is in Abilene for two days of meetings starting Thursday. There's a possibility they could have a decision on the next President of the university by the end of it.
The process was narrowed to a few candidates earlier this month. Dr. Lawrence Schovanec was named Interim President in August after Dr. Guy Bailey left to serve as President of the University of Alabama, his alma mater.
Dr. Bailey resigned that post at the end of October, saying his wife was in poor health. There's no word on whether he's among the candidates under consideration for tech.
The regents' agenda also includes terms for football coaching contracts.
