Texas Tech and two other U.S. Universities topped all research institutions in the nation for the number of Fulbright scholars.
Tech, Ohio State, and the University of Illinois have each received ten fellowships. That is the highest number awarded to Tech faculty members in the university's history.
The Fulbright Scholar program is funded by the U.S. Department of State, and provides grants for U.S. scholars to conduct research, lecture, and network with other scholars and institutions abroad.
Other top producers of U.S. Fulbright scholars among research institutions were the University of Minnesoty-Twin Cities with eight, and the University of Florida and University of Kentucky, with seven each.
