He's technically a defendant in pending legal challenges to the state's school finance system. Still, State Board of Education member Bob Craig of Lubbock said he's encouraging school districts to join those lawsuits. He said there's merit to each of the arguments by the various plaintiff groups.
“There are significant issues in regard to equity, adequacy of funding, and other issues that need to be resolved. I think the only way to do it is by this litigation,” Craig said.
Craig thinks the school funding fight could go to trial as early as the fall of 2012.
