A few Homecoming activities were cancelled due to Saturday's early game, but the annual Red Raider Road Race wasn't one of them.

More than 500 enthusiastic runners hit the pavement at Mackenzie Park for the Red Raider Road Race Scholarship Program, sponsored by the West Texas Running Club. The 5K and 10K started at 7:30 a.m., a new time due to the parade being cancelled.

There are six scholarship recipients at Texas Tech this year. All were on hand to volunteer for the event.
