The organizer working to recall District 2 Councilman, Floyd Price, faces a deadline Monday. Gordon Harris has until 5 p.m. to file the completed petition with the city secretary.

In his petition, Harris accuses Price does nothing for the community. Councilman Price said business growth within his district is one of many highlights.

To force a recall election, Harris must gather 509 valid signatures from voters registered in district 2, and ten percent of them must have voted fro Price in the 2008 runoff election.

Price said if the petition is successful, he will not resign.

If the petitions are not successful, Ysidro Gutierrez and a revolutionary team will petition to remove him, the other 4 members of the council, and the mayor (a 6 month delay applies only if there was a recall election, and he kept his job). Perhaps a replacement council will be loyal to the people. They can prove loyalty be first terminating the city manager (with cause) and her entire staff. The new manager can then eliminate each municipal employee that was discovered at any time of municipal employment, to be or have been NOT lawfully qualified for municipal employment via Article IX Section 4 of the city charter. Second, the water meter fee needs to immediately be reduced down to $5.00 monthly and the rain fee should be permanently outlawed. Members of the new council that fail to show loyalty to the people, can subsequently be recalled and replaced.
