A group of teens are lending a helping hand to Lubbock families in need.
74 high school students from around the country who are part of the World Changers Organization will be re-roofing the homes of seven Lubbock families. This summer marks the fifth year that the organization has helped improve substandard housing in West Texas.
Participant, Philip Sneed, said working on these homes has given them a new perspective.
"I think I'm going to come back to Bolivar and just see how blessed my life is,” Sneed said, “just kind of show my family, look, we don't live in this situation. We're pretty blessed."
This year, more than 18,000 students are working in 85 cities in the U.S.
