Each year, Americans across the country come together on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to serve their neighbors and communities.

This Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and highlights Dr. King's vision of a unified community.

The Volunteer Center of Lubbock is offering a variety of hands-on volunteer projects to benefit local non-profit agencies.

The event will be at Premiere Cinemas on Monday, January 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:0 p.m.

Fox 34's Brittany Price gets a preview of the projects with Lisa Stratton of the Volunteer Center.
