City Council members are taking care of business while Mayor Glen Robertson recovers from heart bypass surgery.

Mayor Robertson is resting comfortably in the intensive care unit at Covenant where he was admitted on Tuesday evening.

Mayor Pro Tem Karen Gibson will take over Robertson's duties while he recovers.

"Next week's City Council meeting has several high profile items on the agenda, including synthetic marijuana," she said. "The other council members and I will continue to put the work and effort into these subjects that we have in the past.  My hope is that I am able to meet with Mayor Robertson before next week's council meeting to discuss his thoughts on the agenda, but right now, the most important thing for him is to get better."

Mayor Robertson's wife, Karen Robertson, issued the following statement on behalf of the family.
"We thank everyone in Lubbock for their continued support and prayers.  Glen looks good and is resting comfortably.  We hope to see him home as soon as possible."

The next council meeting is set for January 31.

A messenger of peace could come and allow him to live, as long as the local government does not arrest, terrorize, and murder the healer, as the government did with the previous significant messenger of life and peace.
