Even with a tough new standardized test, there are fewer Lubbock ISD schools on a state list that none want to be on.

The Texas Education Agency released the annual Public Education Grant Program List. It is comprised of schools that received the lowest state accountability rating in 2010 or 2011, or that had 50 percent or more students fail part of the TAKS or STAAR test in two of the past three years.

Nine LISD campuses made the list last year, while seven are on it this year.

Parkway and Hodges Elementary are on the list. Atkins and Slaton Middle Schools made the list too. Coronado, Estacado and Monterey High Schools are on the list as well.

Students in those schools can request to transfer to other campuses next year, though historically, few in LISD make that choice.
The Lubbock ISD released this statement:

"Parents understand that one accountability measure is not a complete picture of what is happening academically on the campus."

We have the State Education Agency's complete list of Public Education Grant schools here.
