Lubbock ended the third quarter of 2013 with another strong increase in the economic index.
The overall index sits at 137.5, a 7.4 increase from this time last year.
Lubbock National Bank Vice President James Arnold said airline boardings was the only component in the bank's report that did not show improvement.
"We continue to grow and expand our economy," Arnold said. "A 7.4 percent increase from 2012 is the largest single increase that we've seen in the index. So again, hardly a blotch in the report. Very strong, very solid numbers for the Lubbock economy through the third quarter."
Arnold said he believes all those positive indicators set Lubbock up for a very good fourth quarter.
