A brief high-speed pursuit by Lubbock Sheriff's deputies ended when a driver crashed into a fence. Lt. Bryan Taylor said deputies were attempting to serve 38-year-old Jared Castillo with warrants on embezzlement charges from New Mexico.

Reports said Castillo drove away speeding through southwest Lubbock, and lost control of his car while trying to turn at Oakridge Avenue and 82nd Street.

Castillo is being held on the outstanding warrants and additional charges of evasion and resisting arrest.
