Two people are dead after a four-vehicle collision in Gaines County. DPS troopers said fog may have been a factor in the Thursday morning crash on Highway 62, West of Seminole.

Reports stated a westbound pickup truck struck an 18-wheeler crossing the highway at County Road 209. An eastbound car also struck the big rig. And then an eastbound semi rear-ended that car.

A passenger in the car, 74-year-old Ursula Wilcox of Hobbs, died at a Seminole hospital. The driver, 72-year-old Wilford Wilcox is hospitalized in Lubbock in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup, 31-year-old Karen Herrera of Hobbs, died at the scene.

Troopers said all of the victims were wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.
