In July, the incident served as something of a proof-of-performance test, passed easily by the security operation at the courthouse.
Now, it has led to the indictment of 25-year-old Ryan Prieto on one count of assault on a public servant.
According to the sheriff's office, 25-year-old Ryan Prieto entered the courthouse carrying drug paraphernalia in his pockets. As he was being questioned by deputies, they were notified he had an outstanding warrant. That was when the suspect reportedly made a dash for the exit.
Reports say that when Prieto resisted arrest, a bailiff used her Taser to subdue him.
He was rolled off to UMC handcuffed to a gurney for precautionary medical measures, then booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
Prieto was indicted Tuesday on one count of assault on a public servant.
