The Lubbock Association of Realtors is helping some local children walk with a little more pride.
Members have teamed up with the South Plains Food Bank and Payless Shoes to help those who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford a new pair of shoes this year.
Families in Lubbock, Frenship and Cooper ISD are all taking part.
Maria Garcia's four children are just a few who benefit from this program.
"I am a single parent like I said," Garcia said. "It helps me out. I appreciate the people that volunteer to do it, the people that donate the money to do it. It's very helpful in my situation."
Hundreds of children will receive work through this week's effort.
