LPD identified the woman who was found murdered in her fire gutted duplex. What killed 34-year-old Denise Alonzo is still being withheld although witnesses said her husband told them that he killed her then set their home in the 1600 Block of 58th Street ablaze.

"The results of the autopsy aren't anything I can discuss right now," Lubbock Police Department Sgt., Jonathan Stewart, said. "However it is believed that it is a homicide due to the condition of the scene and the findings that we have so far."

The suspect, who LPD declined to identify, is hospitalized with burns and other injuries. He has not been arrested.
