Mexican and Mestizo culture are celebrated each year around this time at the Viva Aztlan Festival.

The event is made up of Ballet Folklorico Dance competitions, concerts and Mariachi workshops.

This year is the 20th anniversary of the celebration.

The event is happening at the Civic Center on Friday, March 14 and Saturday March 15.

Competitions begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, and run throughout the day.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Friday's event is 12 dollars, Saturday's event is 15 dollars.

Fox 34's Brittany Price gets a preview of some young dancers practicing for this year's competition.
