Lubbock boasts plenty of local talent when it comes to making music and brewing beer.
One festival is showcasing the wide variety of flavor West Texas has to offer.

The second ever Texas Blues and Brews Festival features craft beer and live bluegrass music.

Guests can taste several different styles of beer and enjoy hearing from six local bands.

Free bicycle tune-ups will be available as well as an urban disc golf tournament.

The event is happening May 11 from 1pm to 8pm. There is a $20 entrance fee at the door that includes all the beer you care to drink.

Brewers include Wicked Beaver, Triple J, Yellow House Canyon, Battle Axe Autopsy and Sograte along with additional local, individual and amateur brewers.

Sorgate BBQ will also be serving chopped brisket sandwiches and sausage wraps for sale.

Mark Romero, President for the Ale-ian Society, said the event is a great opportunity to learn more about the brewing process and enjoy local musicians.
