So far three people have applied to be appointed to a vacant LISD trustee position. Friday is the postmark deadline for letters of interest from applicants.
District Three Trustee Chris Comer resigned last month to take a job in Midland. School board members will appoint a successor during their January 26th meeting.

A special election will be held in May for the rest of Comer's term that expires in 2014. The candidate filing period begins February 4th and runs through March 5th.
