Federal prosecutors opposed a motion to grant a convicted Lubbock terrorism defendant a new trial.
An Amarillo jury found Khalid Aldawsari guilty of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.
Defense attorneys argued prosecutors' remarks during closing arguments were improper, jury instructions were flawed, and a comment by the judge about a definition in the jury instructions was incorrect.
In their answer, prosecutors denied those claims and said no errors adversely affected Aldawsari's rights.
Aldawsari is still awaiting sentencing. The maximum punishment is life in prison.
