See-sawing for 48 hours straight is any kid's dream, but for members of Texas Tech's Kappa Delta sorority, it's a way to bring attention to a very serious problem. They succeeded.
Members of the sorority hosted the See-Saw-A-Thon a couple of months ago to raise awareness about child abuse, and chose to give the majority of the proceeds, $19,000, to the Children's Advocacy Center of the South Plains. It is also making a donation to its national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America.
This is the 15th year the sorority has held the event, and over the span, has donated $186,000 to the CAC.
