The Lubbock grand jury indicted a driver accused of fleeing a scene of a crash in January that reportedly involved a stolen SUV.

Investigators reported 38-year-old Jerry Ybarra, Jr. was driving the stolen vehicle at a high rate of speed, ran a stop sign at 22nd Place and University, and collided with a pickup. Police said the defendant tried to run from the scene, but officers caught him.

Ybarra was indicted on charges including intoxicated assault, failure to stop and render aid, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and evading arrest.
