Much excitement took place at the Science Spectrum for the 17th annual Critterfest on Saturday.
Hundreds of animals on display for the event, from white tigers to pigs.
James Nesmith said the event features animals not normally seen in Lubbock. He said it served as an education session as well.
"We want folks to come away with a more intimate knowledge and an educational experience regarding these animals. Things like the lions, and the tigers- we want folks to find out more about them: how they live in the wild and how there are people that are doing conservation efforts to try to preserve and protect these species in the wild as well as in captivity." Nesmith said.
Critterfest will also be going on Sunday from Noon to 6 p.m.
Prices are $12.50 for adults, $10 for children and seniors.
